IP Unity and Indigo Software Partner to Offer
Novel SIP Applications on Media Server Platform

Strategic partnership leads to next generation applications and development tools

MILPITAS, CA and SAN FRANCISCO, CA - November 13, 2001 - IP Unity, provider of a carrier grade services platform for enhanced voice and telephony applications, and Indigo Software, a leading developer of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) -based Internet communications infrastructure, today announced their mutual commitment to a new partnership. The alliance is geared towards offering telcos and service providers a comprehensive package to run Indigo's SIP-based applications on IP Unity's carrier grade media server platforms.

Indigo is known for its innovative set of Java-based SIP products including an ensemble of SIP servers, as well as their carrier class software development kit (SDK), the Indigo SIP Foundation ClassTM, which allows third party application developers to quickly construct SIP-based applications. These products are complemented by market-oriented end user solutions such as the Indigo CPL EditorTM, which allows self-configuration of communications services, and the groundbreaking Indigo PIM (Presence and Instant Messaging) ClientTM - the only SIP-based non-proprietary instant messaging system on the market.

IP Unity's flagship product is the Harmony6000TM Media Server, a platform providing the computationally intensive processing power required for enhanced voice applications such as unified messaging, interactive voice response and conferencing. The Harmony6000TM effectively allocates media processing power between multiple applications, breaking the traditional one-application-per-box structure. This allows telcos and service providers to significantly reduce their operating expenses and increase revenues by offering a variety of services on the same platform.

With this partnership, Indigo Software and IP Unity will work in conjunction with third party application developers to integrate core SIP signaling systems with media-rich service platforms to ultimately deliver enhanced services such as unified messaging, web conferencing and Interactive Voice Response (IVR).

"This close collaboration allows both of our firms to extend our customer base and international visibility," said Edward Keegan, Head of Business Development at Indigo Software. "The synergistic combination of our software and IP Unity's state-of-the-art media server will provide a cost-effective platform for next-generation success."

"We are working with best-of-breed application developers such as Indigo to offer telcos and service providers a comprehensive set of enhanced voice services," said Brett Azuma, VP Marketing, IP Unity. "Working with Indigo puts us in the center of the SIP application development community, and we are committed to providing solutions based upon a wide variety of prominent call control protocols to meet the application demands of the carriers."
