SAN FRANCISCO, CA - October 16, 2001 - Leading SIP communications software developer, Indigo Software, today announced at Fall 2001 Voice On the NetTM, the release of the Indigo SIP Foundation ClassTM, a Java-based software development kit (SDK) aimed at providing a powerful set of tools for the speedy construction of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) network elements.
The foundation of a second generation software architecture, the re-defined Indigo SDK consists of multi-platform Java APIs that support SIP, CPL (Call Processing Language) and PhoneCTL (Phone Control protocol), as well as Presence and Instant Messaging extensions of SIP. This market-first is designed as a low level SIP stack and provides a strong basis for the development of SIP-based client and server applications.
"This robust and optimized stack distinguishes itself from the competition through its inherent extensibility to support higher level protocols," said Pierre-André Rulmont, Head of Product Management at Indigo Software. "In addition to its multiplatform support, the product positions itself in the market as the only carrier-class SIP stack that has fused all the recent developments and refinements that we have seen around SIP this year."
The Indigo SIP Foundation ClassTM is generally available and is delivered as a complete SDK package containing all the necessary tools for advanced third-party development. It includes a comprehensive documentation set composed of sample code, an HTML based reference guide and a developer guide.
